My Online Halloween Advent Calendar: New Treats & Tricks Every Day Until Halloween

halloween

I love-love-love Halloween.

We never really celebrated it when I was a kid, because Halloween is linked to, you know, the devil. And Baptists ain’t havin’ no part of the devil.

As an adult Unitarian, however, I’m all kinds of down with a little creepy-spooky once a year. Also, I adore playing dress-up, and at my age, Halloween is the only reasonable excuse to do so.

Last year, I gave y’all the perfect rock & roll Halloween playlist to end all Halloween playlists. Go check it out; it truly rocks.

This year, I made a sort of advent calendar for the month of October. It’s like a Christmas advent calendar, except instead of popping a piece of terrible hard candy out of a felt pocket until Jesus’ birthday, you get to click a link to see a Halloween-themed music video or short film.

CONTENT WARNING: Some of the music videos and short films in the calendar are completely inappropriate for some people, especially the very young. Some of the clips are legitimately scary, y’all. And some of the music videos use naughty language. If you find some content too much for ya, just come back the next day. It’s a pretty well-mixed bag of stuff.

Every Monday will feature a Halloween-y hip hop music video, and every Tuesday, you’ll get a horror short film.

If you like and are looking forward to Halloween, y’all’re gonna love it.

Hey- tell the truth here. We DID the Halloween thing. I have the photos to prove it. Did you still want to trick or treat when you were in Jr. High? Sorry, I didn’t know…

Come to my door now and I will give you candy. Really.

Oh that’s interesting… so it wasn’t quite the super-strict, ultra-baptist, all pumpkins were sent from hell upbringing we were led to believe.

Thanks PJ (aka Jolie’s mother) for enlightening us, the followers of her blog.

I have to be honest, the first one put me off ever looking again. It worked, I’ll admit I was scared.

I’M TOO SCARED TO LOOK NOW, SORRY!
