APPLY

I’m always looking to work with good people.

As a tech blogger and a generally busy person, I always have about eleventy concurrent projects that need more time than I can afford them personally. I have one intern at the moment to help with day-to-day social media tasks and analytics, but I’m also looking for future interns to handle projects such as:

  • News blogging college curriculum creation
  • Goodte.ch, an event to showcase tech startups for social good
  • Research and development for web and mobile applications
  • Event planning in the tech, hacker, and entrepreneurial spaces
  • Editorial intern for book manuscript writing
  • Video intern for short/documentary film on current tech/startup topics
  • Anything under the sun, really

If you’ve got a good project that needs a good mentor, feel free to reach out to me. If you’re interested in one or more of the projects I’ve listed above, you should consider throwing your hat in the ring, as well. I’ll be looking for more intern help beginning in August.

Howdy; I was wondering what type of commitments (be it in terms of time or location) you expect from a prospective intern? I’m a currently-enrolled Marketing major and the projects you outlined are the kind of stuff that I’d love to work on, so I’m definitely interested in what capacity I can help you out. Thanks!

For some things, the time commitment is as small as a few hours a week or whatever you can manage — particularly for research projects.

For events, curriculum stuff, and other tasks, it’s more like a normal part-time job.

  3. Hmm… well, it’s always good to connect. You can get a sense of me from my blog. I’ve taken on a new job in the last 5 weeks and haven’t posted much, but it’s still me. And then there’s my Twitter of course for what I’m up to now.

Feel free to reach out if you think I can help and I’ll see what time I can set aside for projects that interest me.

  4. Hey Jolie,
Are you specifically looking for interns only in your locale or are you willing to work with people long distance too? I am very interested in the “Research and development for web and mobile apps” project you have listed. Deals exactly with the career field I want to break into. You can reach out to me on twitter (@plurrtard) or Facebook or you can shoot me an e-mail (can you see the address I post here?) if you would like to respond privately. In any case, keep rockin’ it!!

  5. Jolie,
I myself am in the same boat as Brandon – wanting to know if you’re looking for people who are local as interns or if distance isn’t an obstacle. If you want a look at the kind of stuff I post/can do, there’s my site’s blog. I’m a huge social media and internet (in general) fanatic and spend countless hours online a day. If you think I could help, or you could use me for anything, don’t hesitate to contact me whether it’s Twitter, Facebook (which you can find on my about page on my site), or email.

P.S. Keep up the great work, Jolie – your work is always a great read!

I’m not too sure if this post is still valid, but I’m in the same boat as those above me. I’m a developer from the UK and as such I find myself glued to many online tech publications. I’ve always enjoyed your articles and after coming across this page I’d be stupid to not throw my hat in the ring and see if you need any help.

Like a number of people here I have a full-time job and other commitments, but a lot of the example projects you’ve listed sound quite interesting and I would be more than willing to donate some time if you need any help.

Feel free to email or reply to me on Twitter!

I am really interested in the Goodte.ch project. We (at) http://www.becoolbepositive.com blog about everything positive. We would love to display tech companies that focus on good.

    Cheers,

    Steve

  9. I’m to chicken to say who I am but… I have a crush on you. Seriously. You put a smile on my nerdy little face. And, to boot, you look so cute.

I really like your honesty and openess. Never ever stop. Please.

Hey there, kind of new to Venture Beat, but totally into tech journalism. I do video production/editing, writing, and dabble in newscasting. In the SF Bay Area and would be into working on some documentary work. Not a college student, more of a working professional, but into it nonetheless…
